ACTIVITY in History, Mole Concept, Measurements. Last updated September 24, 2019.
Summary
In this activity, students will watch a video about Amedeo Avogadro and answer related questions. They will learn that he is the scientist given credit for the mole concept and that he also made several other discoveries in chemistry.
Grade Level
High School
Objectives
By the end of this activity, students should be able to
- Understand and give the definition of a mole.
- Explain why Avogadro is given credit for the measurement of the mole.
Chemistry Topics
This activity supports students’ understanding of
- Mole concept
- Measurement
- History of Chemistry
Time
Teacher Preparation: minimal
Lesson: 10 minutes
